You are invited! Please join Bloom a webinar January 26 on PFAS in Biosolids: Emerging Research from Land Application in Arizona.

This webinar will feature groundbreaking research by Dr. Ian Pepper, Director of The Water and Energy Sustainable Technology Center at the University of Arizona, on the fate and transport of PFAS following land application.

Dr. Pepper's work focuses on answering a critical question: does land application of biosolids result in significantly increased human exposure to PFAS? His findings led to the lifting of a land application ban in Pima County, setting an important precedent for this emerging issue for the wastewater industry. Dr. Pepper will also talk about his team’s ongoing national study of land application sites across the country to evaluate the potential for groundwater contamination with PFAS  or crop uptake following land application.

Dr. Pepper will be joined by Chris Peot, DC Water’s Director of Resource Recovery, who will provide framing remarks to put this research in context for the Bloom program.
