“Understanding turfgrass diseases and management from a microbial population perspective”
This presentation will talk about pathogens and beneficial microbes in the larger microbial population context and case studies from the latest research. The information in the talk justifies the precision fungicide program and provides practical suggestions on how to reduce fungicide use while maintaining excellent turfgrass quality.

“Minimizing future pesticide applications by implementing Best Establishment Practices: Part 1”
Poor turf cover following seeding is often a result of poor decisions made during the establishment process. Soil preparation procedures, and seeding timing, rate, and method, and post-seeding fertilization are factors that strongly affect establishment success. This presentation will describe best implementation of these practices can hasten turf cover formation and minimize weed encroachment, thus reducing the need for potential herbicide applications in the future.

“Strategies for Diseases Control in Cool-season Sports Field Turf”
This presentation will cover some of the most common cool-season turfgrass diseases in sports fields such as summer patch, gray leaf spot and dollar spot. Attendees will learn about good cultural practices, including proper fertility, irrigation, cultivation, soil pH, and mowing practices, which are critical for a successful disease management program.
